Bill and Hillary Clinton speaking engagements have become a lot cheaper since Hillary’s bid for the White House.
The Clinton’s are now placing their tickets on Groupon, a discount coupon site, after their speaking engagements have started to yield low attendance. The former president and presidential candidate are selling tickets to ‘An Evening with the Clintons’ for $35 on Groupon which is half price.
The attendance for the couple’s speaking engagements is not drawing the crowds like they did in before 2016. Reports indicate that upper and lower level seats show many empty seats where tickets have been more expensive. One ticket was reported to be sold at $6.55 in the final minutes of the Toronto, Canada event.
The Clinton’s speaking tour is currently on a break for the holiday season and will reconvene in New York on April 11, 2019, before moving on to nine other cities which includes DC, Boston, LA, and Las Vegas.
Popular New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd wrote that it is now ‘curtains for the Clintons’: She wrote, ‘I’m still looking at large swaths of empty seats — and I cringe at the thought that the Clintons will look out and see that, too. It was only four years ago, after all, that Canadians were clamoring to buy tickets to see the woman who seemed headed for history.’
