US 341/4th Avenue will close in the immediate area of the railroad crossing located just west of US 17 between Lanier Boulevard Amherst Street as part of railroad crossing removal. CSX rail removal operation will begin 7 a.m., Saturday, September 22 and is scheduled to be completed by 5 p.m., Sunday, September 23. The roadway will reopen early if work is completed ahead of schedule or could be closed longer if there are weather or other unforeseen delays.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured via US 341, State Route (SR) 25 Connector/Gloucester Street and US 17/SR 25. Motorists will be able to access businesses, schools, and residences in the area up to work zone.
