Georgia’s Speaker of the House wants to give a parting gift to what he believes is one of Georgia’s best governors.

Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) wants to name $100 million judicial complex after Governor Nathan Deal who will leave office in January 2019.

Ralston made this announcement at an economic conference event in  Savannah last week. He called Deal “one of our greatest governors” as well as a personal friend, according to Savannah news outlets.

The construction of the complex is currently underway and will house the Georgia Supreme Court the state’s Court of Appeals. The building is part of Governor Deal’s vision for the state.

The new six-story building will house 24 judge’s chambers for the Justices and Judges, two large courtrooms, and various support space and it is located blocks from the Capitol.
